Technically speaking, using a markov chain monte carlo simulations, I could probably do a better job of this. Since I'm a computer scientist, this is in my purview lol So I might quickly write one of those and see if that does a better job. Bateman's don't go backwards, iirc

I don't have time for something like a markov chain monte carlo analysis, in my resolution is about 7% (e/fwhm method), so it may not be viable. Also there's a pretty nasty uncertainty budget, but it would be fun for giggles lol Give the professor something to smile about 😂

Now, the parameter selection all seems reasonable to me coming from sources I'd have probably gone to were I building this model myself... but, there's not much detail about the actual model specification in the paper itself (just vaguely says "Markov model")...
