This past paycheque was… not enough. Of course. I don’t know what to do at this point… I work as much as I physically can, I cannot physically handle a second job to fill the time, and ODSP barely covers rent, most bills are on a constant payment arrangement to avoid disconnect.

Yeah... I've been slowly shifting my presence here. Only reason I hadn't stopped posting entirely boils down to money which given ODSP leaves me living 50% below the Canadian poverty line... It's a survival issue. X.X

Even up here in "free healthcare" Canada, the coverage is a joke. Dentists won't even take us because disability programs are using a decades old fee schedule. That being said, if you are in the downtown Toronto area and are on ODSP or similar program, I know a great free clinic. DM me for deets.

The problem with this isn't that MPPs are paid too much - their salaries should actually be raised substantially, you get the caliber of governance you pay for - it's the almost evil hypocrisy of doing so when people when there's ~500k Ontarians on ODSP living in poverty we force on them.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford said the province's "tough" cost of living is one of the reasons why his government recently handed promotions to three Progressive Conservative MPPS, topping up their salaries by more than $1 6,000 a year.
The promotions, the premier suggested, are to make up for the "unfair" base salary of $116,000 a year, which was first frozen in 2007 and has been kept in place by successive premiers, including Ford.

That maniacal weirdo doesn’t want ODSP to be liveable. That’s why he doesn’t do it. He’s a monster.
