What to read next? Harvestman checks out the available titles. New blog post: wanderinweeta.blogspot.com/2024/08/look...#Harvestman#Arachnids#Invertebrates#OldBooks

A black-legged harvestman climbs a stack of vintage books, red, green, and blue green. Most of the harvestman's body is hidden behind the old pages, but his long, black legs serve to identify him.(The World's 100 Best Short Stories, Greenmantle, and The Cry and the Covenant shown here.)

Awesome Boot Sale pick up this morning. Really love the surreal covers on the 1970s Fontana editions of Agatha Christie. Wonderful stuff. #agathachristie#agathachristiebooks#surrealart#oldbooks

An amazing 1883 book! A book about Florida for tourists and "settlers." #victorianera#oldbooks 🗃️

Amazing marbleized book cover with a background of cream and marbled colors of brown, wine, gray. The spine is green-dyed leather.

Went to a fun cocktail bar in Fort Worth that had shelves full of random books and found this gem from 1946. Love seeing how phrasing and slang changes over time. #classicmystery#detectivefiction#Dr.Westlake#oldbooks

A photo of a random page from the book “Death’s Old Sweet Song” by Jonathan Stagge, published in 1946. The page features a conversation between the main character, a coroner and sometimes detective, and his daughter. Some quote highlights from the page include, “No, I guess I couldn’t get Caleb, I’d have to settle for Mr. Forbes. Of course, he’s a bit of a wolf, but the wolf type is attractive to girls.” And “My daughter’s worldly phase was still recent enough to appall me.” And “Where on earth did you pick up that revolting word, brat?” (Meaning “wolf”).
A photo of the spine of the book “Death’s Old Sweet Song” by Jonathan Stagge. It’s from 1946 and looks it, bound in black and dark navy blue with gold embellishments and also has “Crime Club” indicating it may have been part of a set or maybe a subscription.

Studio time. Riven. Another collage, still thinking about a fragile earth/wounded landscape. #foundimages#elgreco#collage#oldbooks

Cut and torn paper collage with a ravine of blue sky between images of fabric which resemble a landscape
