Don't hate me.... but how are the thoughts and prayers going? Ask the Parents of the Parkland Children.

Maybe we shouldnā€™t be (re)building permanent structures on barrier islands? FEMA needs to start purchasing no longer insurable property when disasters strike and pay people to relocate instead of paying them to rebuild and reclaim flood prone areas as storm barrier and parkland.

Yeah. Lots of straw men too. Nobody is proposing we build in parkland. The only ā€œopen spaceā€ at risk are ecologically useless lawns.

After the Parkland school shooting in 2018, red flag laws enjoyed wide support ā€” including from the GOP and the NRA. Thatā€™s no longer the case. But long before the gun group began attacking red flag laws, it suffered a loss within its ranks that could have been prevented by one.

Bulletin: Right-Wing Support for Red Flag Laws Was Once Robust. Thatā€™s Disappeared.

In 2018, even the National Rifle Association endorsed the measures. A decade earlier, the gun group suffered a loss within its ranks that could have been prevented with an extreme risk protectionā€¦

The same Glasgow City Council that didnt tend to swathes of parkland in the name of 're-wilding', hasn't cleaned weeds from kerbside gutters outwith city centre all year & now wants US to sweep up leaves & put them in a bin you charge Ā£50 a year for collection? Get tae fuck. Seriously, get tae fuck.

20 children and 6 adults were killed at Sandy Hook and nothing changed. 17 people were killed at Parkland, 21 at Uvalde. Nothing changed. Our capacity to endure suffering is limitless, as long as it happens to someone else.

Glorious autumn trees at Blenheim Palace. Just getting to the season for good colours.

Shugborough Park, Staffs, on a beautiful day: view from Hadrianā€™s Arch, with oak no. 1242 in middle ground, right. Set into the arch are busts of Admiral George Anson (left) and, his wife, Lady Elizabeth. This is the Anson of circumnavigation and ā€˜father of the Royal Navyā€™ fame. #MaritimeHistory

View across grassy parkland on a clear, sunny, blue-skyed, autumnal day. In the middle ground, right, a veteran oak tree (no 1242) is beginning to turn to autumn colours.
View of Hadrianā€™s Arch, Shugborough: erected in the 1760s and modelled on the original in Athens; set against a blue sky.
Close-up of Admiral George Ansonā€™s bust, set within the upper part of Hadrianā€™s Arch. Anson was born at Shugborough and was buried in the parish church at nearby Colwich. When he died in 1762, the arch, then under construction, was remodelled as a memorial to him, his career, and his wife Elizabeth.

"Today we are slaves of ridiculous kings" Graffiti on London's Parkland Walk. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parklan...

Graffiti painted on brick wall and signed by "Al Boy".

On a red background, a mustachioed and handsome young "king" is drawn, in monochrome grey, as a bird with a man's face. The wings, chest, neck and other feathers are rendered beautifully in heraldic-style patterns. The king wears a crown so you know he's a king. A stylised castle, also purely grey, stands to the left of the bird-king. Elegant ribbons in the upper right read "TODAY / WE ARE / SLAVES" and under this, white lettering reads "OF RIDICULOUS KINGS". A yellow crescent has been placed between the King and his Castle. The red/yellow crescent combination is likely a reference to Islam and maybe even the Crusades, but beyond that, I can't interpret the symbology.
