As someone who has recently used NCEI for a project...you don't. Tbey don't even seem to have proper databases, everythin is csvs in folders broken out by location and year instead of say...postGIS behind the scenes. Also there are no API endpoints, you just crawl their folders.

I feel like using PostGIS or other databases is very useful and powerful (not even necessarily writing queries, just like saving layers/styles somewhere other than the local filesystem) but the tools to get started interacting with them are really unintuitive.

Olha só, bateu até uma certa nostalgia, Geoespacial e Temporal vemos bastante também. Geoespacial com PostGIS, e Temporal com TimeScaleDB ambos do PG.

Eu li sobre isso na faculdade, mas nunca ouvi ninguém usando de verdade, só o geográfico/geométrico (se não me falha a memória é uma especialização do banco OO), esse eu tenho visto gente falando sobre... Inclusive num posto do @leandronsp.com sobre BD alguém disse que usava o Postgis...

The odd case of having two postgis installed, one for anaconda and one to roam around using brew... As soon I feel nice with python and all the Pytorch/TensorFlow stuff I need to kill anaconda soon!
