Ooo, nice, a birding commute! Can imagine - Many a time when it's birdy & wish I didn't have to leave for work ๐ซฃ My walk from home to train station is boring, but once the walk from other station to office was improved by a fall of Willow Warblers. Not had anything like it since!
I'll aim to post more after a bit more field testing but it has helped lighten my set up which was main aim. Using Swaro STC so not sure how it would cope with a big scope. Saw a review on Birdforum saying they'd be happy using any scope with it, so maybe ok? bsky.app/profile/amyt...#BirdingGear
That's a good head, but I've recently switched to Leofoto BV-1 in a shift to a more compact set up. It's pretty good - panning can be very loose if untwist it too much but otherwise impressive for size / weight (under 400g with short handle)
Yesterday was #WorldCarFreeDay so I went to check out a new cycle lane - all 300m of it... Yes, you read that correctly, 300m! One day I hope my local area will have a proper network of routes instead of the current very fragmented and occasional shared path.
Well, I did get the Knot I'd been hoping for, and a bonus Spoonbill but no Shrike. One day... c 9 years since I saw a shrike on patch.
Good afternoon at Titchfield Haven with 2 Great White Egret, Spoonbill and 2 Knot that dropped in just before closing time! Also lots of Chiffs and 1st Shelduck in ages #HantsBirds#LowCarbonBirding#PWC2024
๐ I'd settle for some more waders... (scrapes were closed for 10 weeks so who knows what we missed ๐ฑ)
