We’re nearly at £9,000 but this crowdfunder has started to lose steam after a lack of interest in the local press. With record rainfall and flooding across the U.K. there’s never been a better time for critical wetland and wet woodland creation. Please share! www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/reforestat...

On 24/9 I was pleased to see Great Posbrook Farm reopened after months of Southern Water work. 1st visited for Solent Wader & Brent Goose check (Golden Plover), then saw that patch of scrub! 😍 Wryneck (2021) best + most Wheatear & spring Whinchats I've had locally #HantsBirds

Arable field with grass / geeeb crop in the foreground and a large patch of scrub and trees in the distance. It is overcast
Entrance to Great Posbrook Farm. There are black and yellow bollards blocking access to vehicles and a red sign with "no parking". Entrance is between a house and hedge. There is grey boarding hiding a large pipe

Yesterday was #WorldCarFreeDay so I went to check out a new cycle lane - all 300m of it... Yes, you read that correctly, 300m! One day I hope my local area will have a proper network of routes instead of the current very fragmented and occasional shared path.

A new cycle lane that replaced a shared path. It is next to a bus lane which is unfinished and has orange and white cones blocking it. It is raining

Good patch birding first thing at Titchfield Haven with an Osprey fishing on the river, 12+ Greylag (most I've seen here), 3 Glossy Ibis, Water Rail, 3 Common Sandpipers, Dunlin etc! Nice to have scrapes reopen though wish there was more wader variety. #HantsBirds#LowCarbonBirding

Osprey flying over the trees, chased by a crow. The tall mast at the top end of the valley is visible
12 Greylag Geese in flight over the trees. It is overcast
View of South Scrape from the Meonshore hide. There is lots of mud around the edges and it is overcast. Species present include 3 Glossy Ibis

Covered a bigger part of Portsmouth Harbour for 1st #WeBSCount#HantsBirds#LowCarbonBirding

Map showing Amy's walking route along Portsmouth Harbour. Starting at Rudmoor Roundabout, then Tipner Lake, IMB Lake, A27, and Port Solent.
Paulsgrove Lake in Portsmouth Harbour looking towards Ports down Hill, with houses along the northern section in front of the hill. There is a tripod and telescope by the concrete seawall and a grey rucksack. It is sunny and calm
Tipner Lake by the ongoing housing development called Victory Quay. There is some grass infront and part of the concrete seawall is visible. It is sunny and calm
Little Egrets roosting on a man made embankment beside Tipner Lake. There is a motorway behind it and lots of scrub

They're back! 9 Brent Geese at Hill Head early morning, viewed from Lee-on-the Solent. Good movement of Swallows & Martins moving east too on a broad front #HantsBirds#LowCarbonBirding#PWC2024

Distant photo showing 8 Dark-bellied Brent Geese in the water below a concrete sea wall. There are white blobs with them that are gulls. A few cars are parked in a car park above the seawall
