Pleasant birding with Dartford Warbler & Tree Pipits at Browndown, 5 raptor sp at Titchfield Haven (& missed 3 others!) + 7+ Sandwich Terns, lots of Chiffs, good movement of pipits etc #HantsBirds#LowCarbonBirding 🪶
We’re nearly at £9,000 but this crowdfunder has started to lose steam after a lack of interest in the local press. With record rainfall and flooding across the U.K. there’s never been a better time for critical wetland and wet woodland creation. Please share! www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/reforestat...
On 24/9 I was pleased to see Great Posbrook Farm reopened after months of Southern Water work. 1st visited for Solent Wader & Brent Goose check (Golden Plover), then saw that patch of scrub! 😍 Wryneck (2021) best + most Wheatear & spring Whinchats I've had locally #HantsBirds
Yesterday was #WorldCarFreeDay so I went to check out a new cycle lane - all 300m of it... Yes, you read that correctly, 300m! One day I hope my local area will have a proper network of routes instead of the current very fragmented and occasional shared path.
Good afternoon at Titchfield Haven with 2 Great White Egret, Spoonbill and 2 Knot that dropped in just before closing time! Also lots of Chiffs and 1st Shelduck in ages #HantsBirds#LowCarbonBirding#PWC2024
Tomorrow (Sun 22nd) is World car free day: www.daysoftheyear.com/days/world-c...#LowCarbonBirding@stevedudley.bsky.social told us 30 yrs ago, one of the better dates for finding a rare 😇
Good patch birding first thing at Titchfield Haven with an Osprey fishing on the river, 12+ Greylag (most I've seen here), 3 Glossy Ibis, Water Rail, 3 Common Sandpipers, Dunlin etc! Nice to have scrapes reopen though wish there was more wader variety. #HantsBirds#LowCarbonBirding
They're back! 9 Brent Geese at Hill Head early morning, viewed from Lee-on-the Solent. Good movement of Swallows & Martins moving east too on a broad front #HantsBirds#LowCarbonBirding#PWC2024
