if you log in on web you get 🎉 rather than 🦋 at the top of the screen, which sorts you out.

me, fwiw. it was matrix’s proposal for bluesky to avoid having to create a new protocol like atproto.

My anaglyph 3D version of #BBCMicro Elite is progressing nicely. Here's a 3D view of various ships, with some close and some far away. I just added a parallax effect, which makes a real difference. If you have a pair of 3D spex (with red in the left eye and cyan in the right), then give it a go!

Last call for votes in our Governing Board elections! 🗳 A lot of people worked hard to advocate for and implement more open governance for the Matrix ecosystem – don't let your ballot go unused. Results will be announced on Monday!

yes, we are, and just as normal Matrix has PFS by default but can share history in retrospect (obviously breaking PFS) so can MLS. arewemlsyet.com

Our newest paper, “Logical Clocks and Monotonicity for Byzantine-Tolerant Replicated Data Types”, is now available under CC-BY: dl.acm.org/doi/10.1145/...@matrix.org and other autonomous decentralized systems based on hash chronicles to verify monotonicity and Byzantine fault tolerance

🤨 there may be some underestimation here of how hard a decentralised E2EE msging protocol is. would be good to collaborate rather than duplicate :)
