Do you have a sinister, but not evil, character in your wip? What are they like? In bandwip, Valentine, Ilia's husband is this character. He's not an antagonist nor does he do anything bad, he just gives off sinister vibes. He cares more about- #writingq#WritingCommunity

-reputation than people. He speaks eloquently, but it's almost too eloquent, like he's showing off that he's smarter than everyone in the room. He and Ilia are in an arranged marriage and are well off. There are people who think he runs a cult.

In my murder mystery, the victim's boyfriend wouldn't take no for an answer. Kept stalking her after they broke up. He was even in the area when she died. Obvious suspect, right? He's sinister, but innocent.

I like Jack, the mmc in my Mudlarks series, to have a sort of sinister charisma to him sometimes. I like people to be a little spooked by him. He is a witch-priest and a seer. Has shadowy connections.

My entire cast is sinister. They’re all supernatural creatures whose job it is to scare humans and maintain wonder in the nature of the world, keep humans in their place and all, but they don’t feel personally invested in it. They’re just doing their jobs.

(Twt crossposting) This describes Sidonay fairly well. The man *was* a villain, kinda. He summoned a Demon Lord who possessed him and made him do some very evil things. Though Sidonay would not have done those things on his own, he's not exactly *upset* about what he gained and he's still brutal.

Boyd Devlin at least appears this way. He only ever lies by omission. But he clearly has an agenda. Just what it is... nobody knows for certain. But at the very least he doesn't appear to want to hurt Alexa and wants to train her.
