First post since I quit Twitter and what better way to do it than celebrate Turkey’s 100th anniversary… Turkey was built in Atatürk’s image and whilst we’ve become something darker since, the spirit of positivism and laïcité remains in many of us. May the next 100 be better…
Good news everybody! Threads is somehow even worse than Twitter. Your username is your IG username (no capitals, no spaces), your feed is not who you follow but instead brands and fake influencers all trying to be funny and failing, and it reeks of smiling desperation.
So it seems only @nickashdown.bsky.social and I made it safely across from Turkish Politics Twitter. Which I guess makes us the Kings of Turkish Politics Bluesky. So, yeah, there’s this guy called Tayyip Erdoğan and you won’t believe what he thinks about interest rates and inflation…
