Obviously this nuanced and generous take is not in any way proving any points that I actually made in my column. š¤
Disageeeing that a place is an āecho chamberā by all agreeing itās not an āecho chamberā is <chefās kiss>
Ironically, the level of vitriol in response to @jemima.bsky.social's column on the echoey nature of the BlueSky chamber has matched any twitter pile on I've ever seen, only with an added dose of self-righteousness. (1/11)
I agree we should listen to the people, not the consultants or the politicians: - 85% of Americans believe Biden is too old to serve a second term - 62% of Democrats, and 57% of all Americans, want another nominee - 36% of Americans approve of Joe Biden abcnews.go.com/Politics/bid...
āBiden is polling far behind his 2020 vote share in scores of competitive House districts. Internal surveys from May and June show him losing districts in New York and California that he carried by double-digit margins four years ago.ā www.politico.com/news/2024/07...
Project 2025 authors at the Heritage Foundation are already alleging the next election will be stolen, claiming any result other than a Trump victory in November will have been the result of fraud and will be challenged.
Iām really just here to shitpost, I cannot stand this site
Iām sorry Twitter is much more toxic now but its For you is still so, so much better than any of the feeds here, and Twitter is so much more diverse than Bluesky, which is exclusively American progressives. If people challenge me I will take a video of scrolling through it lol
"What Biden and his aides have refused to grapple with is that most voters thought Biden was too old to be an effective president long before the debate. Bidenās emerging line that this is an elite obsession ā or plot against him ā gets it backward." www.nytimes.com/2024/07/11/o...
Bidenās nomination crisis is far from over.
TBH I mostly just listen to their podcasts at this point! And am generally happy with them. If I had to guess I'd say they're leaning hard on the Biden coverage b/c they're genuinely terrified he will lose and also there's a bit of a rivalry (WH wanted more favourable coverage?)?
