NEW: Judge Merchan seems unimpressed with Trump's request for adjournment in NY criminal case, noting that "Defendant does not explain the reason for the late filing, a mere two and a half weeks before jury selection is set to begin." No more motions without permission, he says. tinyurl.com/2p8ey47b

Me too. Every time I see someone post like this it all comes back. So here's some poetry to cry by. But I'll always give my heart to a dog to tear.

The Power of the Dog by
Rudyard Kipling
There is sorrow enough in the natural way From men and women to fill our day;
And when we are certain of sorrow in store, Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and sisters, I bid you beware Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.
Buy a pup and your money will buy Love unflinching that cannot lie--Perfect passsion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart to a dog to tear.
When the fourteen years which Nature permits Are closing in asthma, or tumour, or fits, And the vet's unspoken prescription runs To lethal chambers or loaded guns, Then you will find--it's your own affair--
But ... you've given your heart to a dog to tear.
When the body that lived at your single will, With its whimper of welcome, is stilled (how still!)
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone-wherever it goes--for good, You will discover how much you care, And will give your heart to a dog to

this made the rounds here when it was first posted in January, but I thought it worth revisiting now that reporting has been entirely consistent with what it presents

Every detail of this comment by an anonymous, self-described Boeing insider appears to have been borne out by subsequent reporting. right down to "records about the door that should exist don't seem to exist." leehamnews.com/2024/01/15/u...

Also, they never do try to run government like a business. If they did, they'd shut down many red states for being an unprofitable drain on resources, sell California to Japan for a short-term profit bump, and merge the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming and Idaho into one state to streamline management.

Biden didn't "quell the concerns" of the people *running against him* because the criticisms from your opponents are not "concerns" they are campaign strategies, you dumb mfers it's like saying the Knicks' three-point shooting is unlikely to persuade the Celtics to stop trying to score.

With all the so-called flying saucer sightings over 100 years, you’d think an intern on one of them would push the wrong button and crash the ship into someone’s swimming pool at some point. “We crossed millions of light years just to come to earth and moon some pilots” doesn’t make sense either.
