Everyone's a capitalist until a robot takes their job, and eventually a robot takes everyone's job.

10:30pm on Thursday, the 3rd SkyTrain finally has room for me to get on. Another car races toward me on Vanness Ave (BC Parkway) attempting to use my trigger of the bike crossing light to also clear the intersection. We aren't serious about alternatives to cars.
Ooh, look @timbl.bsky.social is on here! I should go look for interviews, as I often wonder if he's a bit horrified at all the disinformation and negative impact on media the web has enabled. Who'd have imagined *this* is how self-publishing ability and free-flow of information would turn out 😆
Oh, I'm not attempting to deny new things *could* come along - there's certainly room for improvement (actually *good* AI moderation?). But, it's like, I've heard people saying we shouldn't worry about climate change cuz we'll just invent something to "fix it" eventually and everything will be fine.
I disagree with this assertion/expectation that some new thing will always "come along" - and that it's not just the case that our technology in a field was immature before and now it's mature, and will remain stable.
Sorry, I find your assertion here they aren't "drifting to the right" a bit confusing - didn't you just say NDP moved rightward to the centre? You don't think the Cons have gone rightward?
