On a related note… As of last night, DC has now lost 35 people in traffic fatalities in 2024—as many as all of 2022, and it's still August. We are on pace to meet or exceed last year's 52 total fatalities—not only again the highest annual total since 2007, but the highest 2-year total since 2004.
