If you told me eBay was a team of like 5 people basically doing fuck all for the past decade, hoarding their mounting gold whilst leaving the site and its users to just manage themselves, I’d probably believe you 😂
I swear eBay should be one of the most profitable companies to ever exist. They monopolised the online second hand market like 15 years ago, have done basically zero design or development in the years since, and charge some of the most extortionate fees known to humankind.
I don’t know about the rest of the world, but here in the UK it feels like we’ve gone from “WTF is a Black Friday” to “Black Friday is now 3 weeks long” in the space of like 5 years
The real killer AI was the humans who created economic and political incentives for killer AI
Then those people just got mocked and ridiculed, because god forbid anybody in this world dares to not put short term profit and capitalism above all else 😔
The OpenAI debacle is kinda sad. Over time, a non-profit with goals of helping humanity sold out and basically became a gimmicky branch of Microsoft. Eventually, some of those people snapped and tried to do something about it, but were defeated because “wOn’T sOmEbOdY tHiNk Of ThE sHaReHoLdErS 🤪”
I think AI assistants like they’re banking on will absolutely be the future… but the tech is nowhere near good enough yet. They may well fail simply by being too early to market.
This just looks like any ordinary stage lighting. Whoever installed that and pointed it at a crowd deserves endless lawsuits and jail time, regardless of how much you might hate the victims.
