People have been noting this juxtaposition: we’re talking about American citizens who are caught in a dangerous situation not of their making *in both cases*. And yet both the tone and policy are quite different.

The thing about "just move away from areas where natural disasters are likely" this time around is I feel like "the mountains flooded" isn't really registering with people.

I am once again asking the Harris/Walz campaign to get Tim on the Manningcast (and whatever primetime B1G games are on the next month)

This guy is running for Congress in one of the tightest races in Virginia. He is single, so he borrowed a family for photos. Check out the NYT caption. These people are... weird.

RIP a true icon, Dame Maggie Smith- as depicted here in a more relaxed & informal pose in London's National Portrait Gallery, a portrait painted in 2012 by artist James Lloyd www.npg.org.uk/collections/...

Actress Maggie Smith, in a full-length painted portrait. She sits on a chair or seat covered with a textile, her legs crossed, her feet apparently in slippers, her hand to her temple, a patterned inlaid floor beneath her.

As Rep. Dan Bishop shares NOAA Hurricane Helene updates with his constituents and Western NC sees catastrophic flooding, potential voters need to know that under the Project 2025 he supports it would “be dismantled and many of its functions eliminated.”

Who would have thought that the guy who had his campaign staff fake a photo of a dead police officer by dousing it in coffee would also direct his staff to create fake paper trails to cover up illegal gifts of luxury travel?
