I’d be more inclined to believe that if there were not a zillion legal ways for anyone wants to gamble to gamble (horse racing, lottery, bingo, poker rooms, etc.). People with the gambling bug are going to bump into it sooner or later, and then it’s just a question of if we want some control over it

But this is exactly what we’re talking about here, right? Putting more friction there, making it so that people have to *mean it* to encounter gambling more often, that means tilting “sooner or later” toward “later”
