I knew a biologist--still do technically, she's not dead--who went on a field expedition and came home with a NASTY code. No symptoms but absolutely DEVASTATING congestion. She was talking like a plugged-up cartoon character for months. Nothing helped.
Beautiful little Blue Tit that was just chirping away in our Magnolia tree... thought he looked nice perched there with the yellowing leaves of the Magnolia tree matching his chest feathers 💛 Good evening from me... ! 🕊️ #birds#ukbirding#ukwildlife#nature#photography 📷🪶🌱
Not enough🔋charge in me to use the 📷 the last few days. So this is from a while ago. A Common Carder climbing over a cone flower. "What's that coming over the cone? It is a Carder, it is a Carder!"! 😆 No? Just me then... #WildlifeFromMyWindow#gardenwildlife#bees#bumblebee#invertebrates
From the other day, a Common Carder bee having a good feed on the Echinacia. The Echinacia have been a revelation in the garden. They're young plants but have been attracting lots of pollinators and are very attractive. #WildlifeFromMyWindow#gardenwildlife#bees#bumblebee#invertebrates
Went in the garden to check on the 🐛 after yesterday's ⛈️ (all but the Vapourer have gone, but I think they were ready to pupate anyway). Spotted this froghopper, or spittlebug, hiding under a branch. Small but quite attractive (in my 👀!). #WildlifeFromMyWindow#gardenwildlife#invertebrates#invert
It can feel like it's an unrelenting stream of bad news on the environment, but there are chinks of good news out there.
Pour ce dernier jour de #inverteFest, un gendarme (Pyrrhocoris apterus) sur une feuille de lierre. Je trouvais le contraste du rouge éclatant sur le vert foncé très beau. Neuchâtel, Suisse
This Lrg White stayed overnight in the conservatory. T'was lethargic so I gave it breakfast. My 2wk holiday is at an end. It's been great to have⏳️&🔋to be in the garden, observe, & get reacquainted with the 📷. #WildlifeFromMyWindow#gardenwildlife#butterflies#invertebrates#invert#invertefest
Even better than Buff Tip caterpillars, we've an Eyed Hawk Moth caterpillar! It's windy here today, which kept startling it into a "you ain't seen me, right" pose. It was soon getting back to eating though. #WildlifeFromMyWindow#gardenwildlife#invertebrates#invert#moth#teammoth#invertefest
