Absolutely not disputing anything you’ve said there. I think I was just trying to hint that if you give up meat for other reasons (environmental impact, health etc) stopping cruelty should be on the list. It’s such a good foundation for reducing the harm we do.

I fully agree! But most other forms of harm are in some ways 'cruel' too, and it's 'ethical' to address as many as we can, as fast as we can! Quite a few vegans promote a sole focus on the cruelty to farm animals. I feel we might need a different word than 'ethical' for that...
