40 years is impressive! I’ve only really just crossed the bridge from vegetarian recently. Reducing environmental impact is massively important to me too, i’d much rather see wildlife than farm animals.
Absolutely not disputing anything you’ve said there. I think I was just trying to hint that if you give up meat for other reasons (environmental impact, health etc) stopping cruelty should be on the list. It’s such a good foundation for reducing the harm we do.

I’ve seen some little slug barriers you can 3d print, they look like little spikey fences. Must try them next year all my broad beans got demolished
