This is really relevant to me right now! I’m reading Hacking Graphic Novels by Shveta V. Miller and so much of the book is dedicated to getting other adults on board before it could even begin to talk about close reading and analysis strategies for comics.

Oh I haven't heard of this book! I am adding it to my reading list rn. And yes this seems in line with my experience and observations from other educators who teach drawing to adults. Getting people to break out of that unconscious resistence/fear is a pretty big task.
