I have always hated cleaning the bathroom, so I avoid it until I can't, then I queasily do it and it's awful so I avoid it. And I feel shame; why can't I just do this?! I now realize I hate it b/c it is a sensory -nightmare-. So I wore gloves and a mask and now a life-long horror is just...a chore?
The quilt top is done! I love it and I never want to take it off my bed (I will though, it really need to be ironed) Now comes the hard part, the actual quilting. I am so nervous. I really don't want to mess this up!
Yes! Not only am I not getting a little treat, Past Me gave me -chores- before I get to eat.
Just played Bureau of Investigation (from the Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective folks), and it's great! The one thing I miss from the o.g. SH:CD is the detail on the newspaper (same problem in the expansions). They have a whole blank back page begging to be filled with ads and flavor text!
I had a burst of energy on my vacation and it went into this! I have all 40 9-patches and 40 squares. I borrowed Lara's floor and she and I spent some time tonight on layout. I am so happy with how this looks!
I agree with the below wholeheartedly. But also, I miss Longform. For 12 wonderful years I had a place that would suggest great articles that I could dive into and then pass along.
Lara and I took our kid to her first buffet and she had a good time! She tried -lots- of different food, and liked some of it (lo mein = okay; fried rice with sweet and sour sauce = good!), which is amazing because you can put the number of foods she'll eat on a Post-It Note. Success!
I have done 20 9-patches (1/4 of the overall quilt top). I can't even fit all of them on the dining room table to photograph. I love this so, so much.
