Just read the debut chapter of Night Light Hounds. Holy shit, that was great. Absolutely check it out.
I could go on and on and on about how shoddy the modern port is, but I'd be here all day, really... (like how all the originally scripted ED sequences are made into videos and this heavily bloats the game's file size, or how this port copies reused scenes instead of redirecting when necessary)
Even with the amount that we fixed in that department, there is still plenty we couldn't. Like, some animations are still pretty jank (the wavy effect, the post-game menu effect, the camera movement). None of these are right even with our patch, which is why we're trying to port the 360 version
For instance in the official port, the true ending alone has broken choice flags, missing videos, a missing short intro sequence, missing effects, broken lip sync, missing sprite(s), and improper music looping. It's really not good
Glad you enjoyed it! Lots of hard work on that over the year from everyone on team. With C;HN, it's a combination of large-scale censorship (particularly violence), a very dysfunctional port to Switch/PC, and a fairly subpar translation that leaves plenty to be desired. Might write on it someday.
