This also extends to the theory that the press likes Trump and wants him to win. I don’t think it’s Trump, because the phenomenon predates him. I think it’s Republicans. I think Trump is treated as legitimate because he’s a Republican, and corporate media wants Republicans to win.

If he loses a second time, we had better hope that the GOP fractures into two different parties with one side comprised of establishment Republicans and the other filled with MAGA fanatics. So far, the conditions of this happening have become even greater due to infighting over Trump's campaign.

hence pretending he's a corporate Republican who speaks coherent, cogent English and not Reaver.

I agree in this, it is blind Republicanism and they just can't see past their own noses. It's as if voting D = electroshock treatment. Which is why it's a big deal so many GOP are coming out for Harris. Likely won't reach the Trump-pilled though.

I wish I could remember the article and author, but I think quite a bit about the premise of it, that the US conservative movement went intellectually bankrupt before/during the Reagan administration.

they did all of this same shit with Dubya, and the pendulum swung hard in the other direction with Obama, and then they really lost their fucking minds and dumped all their chips into Nü-Hitler cuz they couldn't get over having a black prez they're just more brazen about it now

I need more evidence for that. I'm willing to accept corporate greed as a motive -- they make a lot of money from controversy, and stoking it is not beyond them. But corporations prefer predictable stability in their markets, and I'm not sure they're willing to risk Trump's chaos again.

Those lower corp rate, stock buybacks, and major tax cuts are such compelling policies, you see. MSM always was conservative. Trumps all other policy sectors or matters of conviction (34 so far), character, mental faculties, or democracy itself.
