Market-led, market-price "affordable housing" is completely devoid of meaning. No one is talking about the same thing when they say “affordable housing” and at this point it’s an entirely useless term. We need to stop using it.

At the most basic affordable housing is housing that the majority of people can afford (imo, where weekly cost is less than rental or mortgage stress for people in 2nd household income quintile or above). Market rate in any capital city does not meet that.

"You can't just say the word "affordable housing" and expect housing costs to drop." "We didn't say it, we announced it."
