Every artist in Iceland is sweating over their applications for an artist salary for next year right now. It´s hard to explain unwritten stories, and ask someone to believe in them, but I have found that the process is also a good way to trick yourself into believing in them as well.
But how does Iceland afford invisible jets for $80 million that go missing?!?!

I said it when I was leaving Gullkistan, said it many times since, and will say it again: I want to live in Iceland!
I always wondered how Iceland could have organically developed such a strong domestic entertainment and even star system, with such a small market. But of course it didn't happen entirely organically ... aside from paying artists salaries being a genuinely Icelandic thing to do.
If they did this in Norway back in 2007, either no one knew about it or I certainly didn’t, wow! I’d still be there if I was able to get in a programme like that :)
