I think I extend this sentiment to most things I'm a fan of. I've written one fan fic thing, as it happen for Doctor Who, more as an exercise than anything else, and never had the urge to do it again.

I'm watching The X Files. I forgot how quiet this show was. Hardly any background noises, like no traffic or background chats. No office/ police station phones ringing. It is an eerily quiet show.

It both troubles me and horrifies me that there are people in mainstream media and politics who consider that the lives of Palestinian children really are worth less than others. This thinking is at the centre of all dehumanisation. It can be turned onto any group and adapted to any bigotry.
