Not what I'm doing at all. Social media companies hire psychologists to figure out ways to make it more addictive, my beef is with those companies preying on vulnerable and susceptible people, especially children and teenagers.
My main point is that it is not healthy to spend all your free time on your phone any more than it is to spend all day in your bedroom, which was the example you gave.
I see you're on a mission to make social media not seem like a problem, and by extension obfuscate the role dopamine plays in addictions such as social media, gaming and gambling. I'm not going to argue with you about dopamine anymore, but I don't agree with letting social media off the hook.
What is the primary function of dopamine then?
Are you trying to tell me dopamine doesn't motivate people to repeat behaviors?
Okay but part of the cure for depression IS getting out of your bedroom all day long and going outside, and social media is absolutely designed to be an addictive dopamine-dispensing skinner box
