With two steep hills ahead, no way were we following this one. 🗻🛻🪨🪨🪨…..🚗

A big truck carrying boulders in an open ended bed heading through a village towards a choice of two steep hills.

This is a conservative estimate at 5.4% of Gaza killed. To put this in perspective, the genocides in Bosnia, Rwanda, and Darfur resulted in the deaths of 2.5%, 12%, and 5% of the populations, respectively. The genocide in Gaza is already surpassing most modern examples of genocide in deaths.

Yes. This is the question.

Seriously, what does it take? What atrocity could Israel commit before it becomes a matter of public disgrace to champion our alliance? Does a threshold even exist? And what terrible harvest will the west reap for so unapologetically telling the world that it attaches so little value to these Arab lives snuffed out of existence?

In the TV series Ripley, a man glances at this picture for about 3 seconds maybe less. I simply could not carry on watching. I took a photo of the tv screen and then hunted it down. Wasn’t easy. Found it, bought a print, framed it expensively. Found peace.

The vaulted door opened and in we went. A small group. Instinctively I hung back a bit to slow down my visit. My head swapped the lighting for a flickering flame, the stillness for a draft. Now, in low light, I could see the beasts on the wall moving. Glowing in the darkness. A revelation 🦣

The destruction of Charles McNair’s elegant 1929 entrance façade for The Regal Cinema on Sauchiehall Street has begun in earnest. The flagpoles have been removed and drills are being used on the brickwork, showering the delicate neo-classical akroteria below. Shocking and sad! 💔
