Many Roman lamps and some Egyptian scarabs out for Intro to Archaeology classes today. Thinking about the Roman Empire.

Enjoying several issues of this new gift, a weekly from San Diego in the 1930s-40s called The Keyhole. Lots of vice, general bad behavior, and ads for bars and night clubs targeted at Navy personnel. Sort of like the #c19#sleaze#bookhistory

We may be receiving a gift of a Shakespeare folio. It may (or may not) be 17th century; no one seems to know. And the package from the executor may (or may not) be lost in the mail, with no tracking. All my humanities-based training in dealing with ambiguities is currently being tested. 🤷🏻

I recently bought some NOS (new old stock) pamphlets from the utopian Oneida Community from a dealer who got them after bunches turned up that had been stored, wrapped up in their original paper bundles, since the 1850s…..
