You think it'll only happen to your not-so-tech-savvy family members... but... My Facebook account was compromised :( The attacker put a 2nd-factor Authenticator app on the account. Which seems to prevent me from recovering the account, even after uploading multiple government documents. Ideas?

This is one thing Google+ got absolutely right. The owner of the post was in full control of who could comment, including the ability to remove replies, block folks so that they couldn't comment further, and (crucially) temporarily or permanently lock comments to a post.
