Presumably there are at least some US citizens living in Ohio who speak Haitian Creole. There are many ways for that to happen. Someone born in the US and raised in Haiti. Someone born and raised in Haiti who has at least one US citizen parent. Naturalized citizens. It would not be weird.

This is insane. I work for city government, and one thing we talk about a lot is how federal law prohibits discrimination based on language. That is, we have a duty to provide a translator or a translated copy of documents. We cannot deny service bc of language differences.

This guy's predecessor (a couple of incumbents ago) and possible inspiration Ken Blackwell once rejected voter registration forms (only from Dem counties of course) because they were printed out on standard copier paper; the rules had been written to require a heavier paper stock, not in normal use.

Haitian Creole is the main language of Haitians living in America, and many people in Haiti can speak and understand only in Haitian Creole. It is so unbelievable that so many people are believed in Trump’s racist bullshit against Haitian immigrants and Haitians in general.
