I think it's because they don't really believe they are employed. They feel that they are funded to pursue their own interests, and if they work harder they'll get more opportunity to do that. The requirements of the job are hurdles they have to pass to get at 'their' work, resented but required

I might be wrong, but I assume that the 3 vaccines we have had, even if a couple of years ago, still give us some protection. So what about those who never got this?

Sure, my point is that all students can benefit from one on one teaching (alongside other teaching), because the point is to respond to what the student needs. and when people say otherwise it sound like they are dismissing our students as incapable. (Putting aside the cost of this)
