It’s true what they say, though… Gen X is just built different. Somehow they’ve become like Vulcans and have suppressed their trauma to the extent I don’t even know if they’re aware they have it half the time.

I have a few GenZ kids asking me what my secret is. It’s funny, being told to “get over it and no one cares and plenty of people have it worse than you.” Allows you to rationalise a lot. It isn’t always a good thing.

We're aware of it. It doesn't go away; it's a part of us. You integrate it and move on. Usually we learn the source of it & avoid that as much as we can. We don't like wasting time or energy on things we can't change. And yeah, emotions make you do dumb things, so we try to keep them in check.
