I've been seeing a lot of talk around good female protags in anime. Yes Frieren and absolutely Mao Mao. I would also like to nominated Emilyko and Kate from Shadows House. Who else can we add?

chisato and takina from lycoris recoil are really Good btw but most of the anime I've watched have female protagonists and I think all of them are good so I've never understood people who say things like "female characters aren't written well" because I've never noticed that to be true

although ensemble cast, Marcielle from Dungeon Meshi is also amazing😭
