One thing new users may not realize is how blocking a person responding to any post you make deletes the response for everyone and breaks the thread. It is a much better way of taking the air out of the trolls than what they do at the bad place.
WE SQUASH THEM LIKE BUGS...um... we remove them politely.
Interesting and useful! 🤔 Wait. What if you then unblock them afterwards? Is the post still gone? Can you delete responses this way?
Oh is that what was going on. I kept thinking I must have preemptively blocked the ne'er-do-wells.
That's great! I got so sick of seeing responses from people agreeing with the jerks I'd blocked -- or even just talking back to them when I'd already moved on.
It’s so helpful! and it’s also a great reminder for me to NEVER feed trolls, because I know how easy it is for them to wipe out my hard work with a block.
TIL!TIL!
Didn't think about that, but I have seen it/experienced it - Crappy conversations just vanishing. I guess that means it really works well. Cool that a seemingly small thing like that takes away so much oxygen for trolls.
Right. So if a cat posts a lie and another cat corrects the lie, the lying cat can block the truth. Nice.
I've had my account well before open reg and I didn't even know that. That's awesome.
