What are some not-really-infrastucture things the city (or a business) could do to make it easier for you to get around by bike? Or things that they already do that you like. My example: expanding the bike parking at the grocery store I go to.

Kind of infrastructure, but less discussed than lanes: Access to more shopping plazas from somewhere other than the main road. A ton of businesses front into busy streets and back into residential areas, but those residents living adjacent to the store still need to go all the way around to access.

Fixing the bike light at Wyse and Boland in Dartmouth. It very rarely goes green and means you have to cross at a gap when there are no cars turning right.

Fix the curb cuts on the Bayers MUP. It is so annoyingly drastic. Either adjust the cut or raise the intersection (majority of the intersections are to low traffic areas)

Trim the low branches so I don't have to duck when I'm traveling along a tree lined street. (I'm tall, and so is my bike. And yes, I will occasionally bike on the sidewalk for my own safety.)

Putting bike parking at the grocery store I go to

Good bike parking is definitely #1 (omg Quinpool Superstore, get it together). Curb cuts! Or ramps, if cutting the curb isn’t practical. Especially when a business is located along a bike lane (thinking of Inkwell, for example).

Oh! And curb cutouts to get to the bike parking (ideally very close to the bike parking itself so I’m not crowding pedestrians to try to get to it — looking at you, Mumford and Windsor Sobeys-es.)

It’s infrastructure or adjacent, but speedily responding to damaged infrastructure (like the tipped sign & cones on South Park this week, or instances of crushed bollards or shifted barriers, makes a big difference.

Bike parking is a biggie. Trying to find *anywhere* you can tether a bike in Bayer’s Lake is wild. (Bayer’s Lake is, of course, generally hostile to human life, but since a MUP goes there I thought there might be something…)

Signs that acknowledge Drivers are not the only users of Road. eg,Oakdale Crescent in Dartmouth is only "No Exit" for Drivers, clearly has exit for Cyclists and Pedestrians. sample sign that can now be seen in Toronto
