I don't know whether or not the PRC government exploits TikTok to spy on or influence the US populace But if the US regulated privacy and safety for *all* social media companies with laws similar to the GDPR and DSA in Europe, then that would protect the US without doing anything special for TikTok

Today, I received an email from a 16 year old, thanking me for taking time from my schedule to speak to his class. He also shared with me that he was a dungeon master, a reference to how I classified technology. He made me tear up. Only a little.
