It's okay to have single-use kitchen tools if you actually use them. Buy the garlic press. Get the rice cooker. Use a food processor instead of a hand grater or knife. Buy the pre-chopped vegetables. Get the peeled garlic, seriously, what a time saver! You have to eat every damn day
Yes! Pre-chopped veggies cook the same! Food processors are great! I enjoy cooking MORE the easier I make it for myself.
I have a food processor I use once a year: to grate 5 lbs of potatoes for latkes at Chanukah. It is well worth it.
The garlic press is legit my 2nd favorite thing in my kitchen.
You don't have to have those tools to cook, no. You can get by with one good pot, one good pan, a sharp knife, and a cutting board. But it's actually morally okay to make your life easier if you have the funds to do so
I am perfectly capable of making rice without a rice cooker. Am I capable of not burning it because I get distracted by something shiny? The world may never know.
Yep. My electric kettle is a literally everyday use, sometimes several times in a day, appliance. It’s more efficient both in energy usage and time than heating a kettle on the stovetop.
Specialized tools exist for a reason! Someone thought "Isn't there a better way to do this?" and invented it! If it doesn't suit your needs, it's clutter, but if it does, it's magic. A thing that does the thing you need, not its cousin!
Rice cooker and air fryer for me. “It’S jUst A cOnvEcTioN oVen!” Mmhmm. So I don’t have to preheat my gas oven for 30 minutes OR I can use it for something else while I toss some Brussels sprouts in the air fryer 🤷🏼♀️
