I’m starting to realize the only reason academia works is because PIs live vicariously through their trainees. I know, I’m slow.
I may teach from these in the future, so I will appreciate any comments on errors / omissions / improvements. I am already aware of several omissions; Caltech's courses are only 10 weeks so some difficult choices had to be made on what topics to present.
These are free for use (subject to the CC BY 4.0 license included on the first slide of each deck). Each slide deck has 45 slides because lectures were delivered in 90 minute class periods and I average ~2 minutes per slide. References articles are in links.
I've posted the notes/slides for my computational biology class at github.com/pachterlab/B... Topics were chosen based on appearing in >=3 bio areas, although for focus examples are all drawn from #scRNAseq. Homeworks include both theory and exploration of data (via GoogleColab).
