'Very few people have seen them. But on a recent field trip the Ngururrpa rangers were lucky enough to have one fly in and land in their camp.' 😮 The largest population of night parrots has been discovered in Western Australia, including a breeding site! 🥳🧪🦉 www.theguardian.com/world/2024/s...

There’s a beautiful mix of the beginning fall colours and the summer greens right now and they are all getting reflected in the small marshes. This Greater Yellowlegs was foraging in a shallow marsh and elegantly showed off its signature legs in the calm water!🪶

A Greater Yellowlegs slowly forages in a calm prairie marsh that is reflecting the surrounding greens, yellows and browns of the surrounding trees and grasses.

The Tunnock is eight years old today. Maybe I’ll do a few more bird pics some day soon. Maybe.

News a bit belated (seeing as this is first post and all) but a great weekend ringing in South Derbyshire. Steady catches Friday, Saturday and Sunday but highlight was juvenile Tree Pipit caught and ringed at a new site. Supporting cast of Chiff, Blackcap, Goldcrests most welcomed too.
