I started a rewatch of Stargate Atlantis this weekend, and it really holds up. And it only reinforces how broken modern sci-fi television is. We went from 22 episodes a year of fun character driven adventures to 8 episodes every 18-24 months of serialized bleakness.

A) we have been waiting ten years for the NYT to go this hard on the manic, alarming incoherence he has always displayed B) look it’s scary as hell and none of it is actually funny but “He claims to have been named ‘man of the year’ in Michigan, although no such prize exists” is where I lost it
