Maybe a reason Harris is having trouble keeping momentum: the provocative mobilizing things she says about Trump won’t get featured
It's hard to avoid becoming Sweeney pilled, at least so far as the NYT is concerned. Maybe they don't genuinely like Trump and want him to win, but they very obviously detest Democrats and want them to lose.
As I've said elsewhere, they're consigning themselves to irrelevance. Why would I ever give a shit about the NYT's coverage again if they can't manage this basic stuff? Why would I subscribe?
There is no momentum shift. There are new reports from Republican owned news agencies saying it has, but it’s only bigger today.
Its a problem with the "dems aren't saying X" criticism. The dems probably are, the papers won't print it though. They certainly won't treat it like a gop operative saying "I'm going to make up a claim about plagiarism" which the media will dutifully pick up until the right black person is fired.
This plus her being advised to stay gainfully moderate to court the virtually non-existent never Trump vote that Biden didn’t capture.
Fact washing
Marist has her up 5 this morning. She's doing well with the early vote. Maybe the momentum narrative is as accurate as the red wave narrative was two years ago.
They know that “I told you so” will get a lot of clicks if she loses and they’ll write endlessly how it was her own fault
She's not losing momentum
The unmovable core of Trump support are Evangelicals. “Conflicted” Christians considering Trump are wavering, desperate for an alternative they can bless.
