Surprised how bullish I'm seeing people be on Vision Pro. To me the closest thing to a "killer app" was "watch movies without a TV". Until now gaming is the only cool thing about XR and Apple has a terrible track record in high end gaming. More Newton than iPhone if I had to guess.

The movie theater. Seeing her excitement and wonder at the story on the big screen is incredible. She cheers at the movie, she jumps up and down, and during the credits she goes and hugs the screen and dances to the credits.

All I really want is a Twitter that decided to choose APIs over becoming a media company back in the early 2010s. Even if Bluesky fails in creating a federated network, their attempts to do so are much more likely to give me what I want. Meanwhile, Elon has intentionally strangled Twitter APIs.

I suspect this group is loud but small, at least in programming. Akin to devs who use AGPL licenses to make their open source effectively useless for commercial purposes.
