Know anyone affected by the Netlify layoffs? Send them my way! I’m hiring an L4 SWE to help build the post-experimental version of Web Frameworks for Firebase Hosting. You’ll own our CLI experience and mapping the rich feature set of modern web framework to our unified architecture.
This year at the box office has given me a tiny bit of hope. It feels like the franchise movies also have to be at least decent to succeed instead of just automatic money printers. Elemental deserved to do better tho.
Spider-Verse makes all other superhero movies look half-assed by comparison. Stunningly beautiful visuals. Frenetic action that takes full advantage of the freedom of animation. Best comic book movie of all time in my book.
Surprised how bullish I'm seeing people be on Vision Pro. To me the closest thing to a "killer app" was "watch movies without a TV". Until now gaming is the only cool thing about XR and Apple has a terrible track record in high end gaming. More Newton than iPhone if I had to guess.
I'll be honest, this is not the part of Avatar 2 I was expecting to be grounded in reality. https://www.livescience.com/animals/orcas/orcas-have-sunk-3-boats-in-europe-and-appear-to-be-teaching-others-to-do-the-same-but-why
I'm not sure how to get over the idea that anything I would prompt an AI to elaborate on I'd be better off sending as the source bullet points.
All I really want is a Twitter that decided to choose APIs over becoming a media company back in the early 2010s. Even if Bluesky fails in creating a federated network, their attempts to do so are much more likely to give me what I want. Meanwhile, Elon has intentionally strangled Twitter APIs.
Idea: browsers and mobile OS should track layout shift and cancel taps/clicks that occur within a certain window (200ms?) of them. Brought to you by the hundredth time I've not actually wanted to cast to my kitchen display instead of my TV thank you.
I sympathize with the idea that remote work stunts the growth of junior devs but can't relate. I worked remotely since college. Other than 6mo in person for a startup accelerator never had an in-office job until Google (which is now fully remote). Probably depends on the dev.
Can bsky posts be backdated? Kinda curious about building a tool to import historical tweets...
