In Cambridge students are assigned examination numbers which are not the same as their ID card numbers. The key to the codes is not used until after the exam results are collated and grades assigned.

Yes I have an old research collaborator who lives in Finland and who extols the virtues of heat pumps used in older properties there.

Yes our windows are a weak point for us. All single glazed and draughty frames and doors. Also moisture is an issue as the back of the property is built into a hillside and below ground level. The ventilation helps to lower the humidity!

I think there is a case to be made for focussing the assistance on the vulnerable but I’m not certain of the best way to achieve that. As someone with both state and occupational pensions I certainly don’t need the winter heating allowance.

That’s encouraging. We also have a stone built 17th C Grade II listed property in the Dales but most local heating engineers recommend staying with a high temperature heat source (oil).

“A man of the people” I like the way he annotated his trip to the USA as representing Clacton on the World Stage. I wonder how much time he’s devoted to running local constituency surgeries?

Yes but as soon as crashes start happening, and they will, the progress towards global self driving will grind to a halt.

It does say for U.K. motorways, so yes, pedestrians and cyclists are excluded!

I think it’s important to both have a population based view of the pandemic whilst still realizing that individual experiences may be more extreme. That’s not to diminish the problems for those individuals but more importantly it emphasizes the need for targeted help and possible treatment.
