I would never keep my cat indoors and I'm well aware what they kill in their lifespan. I don't own a cat even though it was possible. Even with letting it out. But we have so many cats in our neighborhood, it doesn't have to be another one.
when i was young my parents refused to let any of the cats in the house and i'm not sure if any ever lived to be older than 2. i fought them to keep my cat inside-only when i got him and he's 8 years old now. like even if u dont care about wildlife for some reason at least care about ur cat's safety
Keeping you cat inside is not only good for the environment but also for the cat. Outdoor cats die so much earlier than indoor ones, and they also contribute to growing the stray population. I don’t understand why people consider a domestic animal apt to be roaming free in cities and in the wild.

It drives me crazy that people that have cats are cool letting them outside to roam,kill & potentially be killed. We used to feed and house a cat that was “owned” by our neighbors who left him outside 24/7/365. I reported the bitch and sent her a bill for food. They moved and left the cat. 😡
I don't get why people don't keep their cats inside anyways. Where I live has a ton of people who drive huge trucks, raccoons, coyotes, hell I'm pretty sure I saw a badger the other day. Cats can get into all sorts of trouble around here. Mine stay inside or there's hell to pay.
We have a catio. Our cat is safe and happy. Should be the same for all cats. Contained.
