I don't think they want to understand this, it's easier to pretend it's a fundamentally evil ideology focused entirely on subjugation and oppression of other people than tackle the complexities.

I think what drives me crazy is that their whole point is to explain that we (as in western culture as a whole, not us in particular) need to think of Palestinians as humans, not proto-terrorists or speedbumps, and then they turn around and tar millions of Israelis based on a few 19th century quotes
