Awesome 😊
The proper designation for it could be C/2023 S1 ATLAS but we don't have the data for it to be in Stellarium yet. Sorry if my video title is a little bit confusing. I tried to cover both adding comet A3 & talk about a new comet in the same video. Maybe I should have split the topics.
Short video on how to add Comet C/2023 A3 to Stellarium and I also talk about an even newer comet t hat was discovered (A11bP7I) which could be brighter than Venus at Perihelion at the end of Oct/Beginning of Nov! www.youtube.com/watch?v=fYD5...#astronomy#space 🧪

Nicely captured and processed!
So, since it's looking like a quiet Sunday here and I'm one of the local asteroid whisperers, I'm happy to do a bit of impromptu outreach and field questions about 2024 PT5 and/or any other asteroids. And if you don't have any that's OK, too. :) #PlanetaryScience 🔭🧪
Just after 4 P.M. EDT on September 29, asteroid 2024 PT5 will enter a path around Earth and briefly become another satellite—a mini moon. www.scientificamerican.com/article/tiny... Fun from @leebillings.bsky.social 🧪🔭
A small asteroid, 2024 PT5, will spend the next two months alongside our planet as a mini moon before swooping back to deep space
Friends, family, people who know me, etc. keep asking me if I'll take a picture of this new moon. I created this comparison with a real picture of the moon that I took to demonstrate how big it will look. The biggest scope I have access to is a 25" which I don't think is big enough to see it.

I saw a post this morning claiming the second moon would be as large as our current moon representing it with a picture of Mars. Who needs quantum efficiency when you have photoshop?
