My point here is that what Walz needs to do is politely explain to Vance that he's a stupid racist asshole in a Midwest nice manner. Or he can just say it. Maybe that would work too. Either way, no fact checking.

The racist lady understood what he was calling her and saying down, unhappy, but reprimanded.

He sympathized with the lady, but then did 2 things. 1.) Explain that you have to be in the country to claim asylum, and then explained the concept of oceans to her. 2.) Said immigration is a concern, but ultimately we're talking about how we treat human beings.

We only get to that point by Vance learning that Walz understands him and isn't gonna put up with his crap by pinning him against a wall and saying "I will END YOU."

The lying will continue until there are very real consequences for people who lie this brazenly. The only thing unique about Trump is that he taught Republicans you can lie like this and no one will stop you. That's his legacy.

I'm thinking about it since Trump and his lackeys keep griping about wanting a traditional masculine honor society, blood for blood, eye for an eye and all that, and in one of those societies, Mr. Salam would be allowed to do a lot more than just politely advocate people vote for Trump's opponent.

Similarly, I keep thinking about how Trump ran into Yousef Salam of the Central Park 5 after the debate, weirdly acknowledged him as a supporter and ran away like a coward.

If they hadn't bought the fatalism of the white nationalists saying they can't win when white people are a minority, they could've been competitive without suppression etc. But their base is too radicalized, and now they can't tack back to the center on the really unpopular stuff.

I think when they realized it virtually always goes unpunished. That's a whole lot of disruption for very little work, and we do not rightly treat it as terrorism.
